In 2022, Nextier Consult conducted a brief Inclusive Business (IB) study for Nigeria, focusing on 23 business lines and highlighting collaboration for an IB support program with Kaduna, Lagos states, and the national government. The study, partnered with GIZ and the Kaduna Investment Promotion Agency, is titled “The Inclusive Business Market Scoping Study for Nigeria.
In 2022, Nextier Capital conducted an Inclusive Business (IB) landscape study for Nigeria that was funded by GIZ. The study clarified the IB concept in the country, profiled 23 noteworthy IB business lines, assessed the enabling environment, developed recommendations for a comprehensive IB promotion program, and sought support from stakeholders through an action plan.
A follow-up project has been commissioned by the Investment Climate Facility, in collaboration with Kaduna state to institutionalise the IB practise. At the national level, effort is being made to establish a support program for IB firms. Subsequently, with financial backing from the European Commission and the Germany government through the Investment Climate Facility, strategic efforts will focus on piloting this program in Kaduna state.
